For and in consideration of one dollar and other valuable considerations each to the other paid the receipt where of is hereby acknowledged by each of the parties hereto P.T. Barnum + James L. Hutchinson who will be the sole owners of the entire Barnum London Show on its return to winter quarters at the end of this travelling season hereby agree to sell and deliver to W.W. Cole at their Bridgeport winter quarters the undivided three eights of said entire show free from all indebtedness for the sum of Seventy five thousand dollars (10,000) ten thousand dollars being paid to Barnum & Hutchinson this day, (15,000) to be paid on the first of November next, (10,000) Ten thousand dollars on January first 1886, the remaining forty thousand dollars (40,000) be paid in sums of not less than ten thousand (10,000) dollars at said times as said Cole made prefer before October first 1886. The sums due after November first 1885 to draw five (5) percent interest and said Cole's interest in this show being pledged to said Barnum and Hutchinson for the above payment if any accident affecting the value of said property to the extent of one third (1/3) or more should occur before its delivery according to the contract then Barnum & Hutchinson will satisfactorily settle with said Cole for such results or failing to agree it shall be decided by arbitrators chosen in the usual manner
